Here's the pictures of when I resprayed the Lada, in summer 2002. For a description of the process click here. The first three pictures show the car being stripped and prepped.



You can see the state the front wings were in. The car really needed two new wings, but I decided to bodge them. In the second picture the reconstruction is in progress. I primed between layers of filler to see the shape, but I've since been informed that this is a bad thing, as it prevents the filler bonding with the previous layer. The final result was a compromise between quality, ability and patience.



The car is masked and pushed into the "spray booth" (Howard's garage). I owe Howard huge thanks for all the time and effort he put in to help me with this project.



Sorry no action shots of the spraying, I was too busy. In the next pictures you can see the car fresh from the "booth". I was really pleased with the result.



The refitting is almost finished - just a couple of trim pieces to go and it's done. There are lots of mistakes if you look close up, but I think it looks great, and it's a big improvement on the old colour.
