I have spotted two replicas of "The Car".
The first was spotted at
North Weald Drag Strip
in the late 80's. It looks like a pretty good replica, judge for yourself by looking at
the original.
It looks like it's based on a Ford Cortina or Granada, but the plate suggests
an older base vehicle.
The second was spotted in the classifieds section of
Custom Car August 2001 issue. I thought it was the same car
at first, but this one has rear side windows and the body looks slightly different. Strangely, the grille
looks identical to the first replica, and both are from Essex, so maybe they're linked?
